Professor Terry Lloyd, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Ballarat, has announced that he will retire from the University in July.
“Over more than a decade, Professor Lloyd has provided exemplary service to the University and has contributed significantly to its development in this time”, Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Battersby, said.
“Professor Lloyd has been on many State and Commonwealth committees and is well known locally, and in Ararat, Stawell and Horsham, for the work he has done on behalf of the University.
“He is very active in the local Ballarat community and is known as a great ambassador of the University,” Professor Battersby said.
“As a much liked and respected member of our University community, Professor Lloyd has our appreciation for what he has achieved for the University and we thank him sincerely for this.
“Professor Lloyd has been planning his retirement arrangements with the University over recent months and his departure from UB at this stage will allow him to pursue his extensive community involvements and other interests.”
Professor Lloyd wished to acknowledge his good fortune in working with such dedicated colleagues at the University. He also recognised the many advantages he had in growing up in Ballarat and appreciated being presented with the opportunity to make a contribution back to his home town.
“While retiring from my present role, I will be maintaining an active involvement in other activities, particularly related to the community, and of course the education sector,” Professor Lloyd said.
The Chancellor of the University, Emeritus Professor Robert Smith, has also acknowledged the contribution of Professor Lloyd and has expressed the appreciation of the University Council for his achievements.
