The Literacy and Mathematics Strategy is a plan for substantially raising standards of attainment in literacy and mathematics in primary schools over the next five years (2018- 2022). Literacy and mathematics is recognised as a priority for improving standards as underpinning children’s future learning at the secondary stage and for improving their future life chances. The national strategy is founded on a strong belief in a moral purpose enshrined in the New National Curriculum Framework for the Maldives that ‘Every child is prepared for life’
The strategy was launched on 20th November 2017.
